Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2011

It's that fabulous time of the year again! The weather is nice and the deals are GREAT! Nordstrom's Anniversary sale is set to begin July 5th for Nordstrom card holders, and July 15th if you do not have a Nordstrom's card. Donna Karan New York 25th Anniversary Lipstick Collection

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Donna Karan, Donna Karan Cosmetics has created a collection of lipsticks inspired by the Fall 2011 runway show. The collection consists of the seven essential universal shades that every woman should have in her makeup bag; Tender Peach, Chic Pink, Rich Raisin, Runway Red, Modern Wine, Classic Ruby and Black Plum. The collection was created to fit in with Donna Karan’s philosophy that women only need seven essential pieces to her wardrobe, hence the seven shades. Being a long time devotee to Cashmere Mist, I was instantly drawn to “Liquid Nude” Eau de Parfum. It mirrors its sister scent with soft and sensuous notes and becomes a true second skin. Cashmere Mist is still detected in this interpretation of warm musk’s and creamy woods; however it is a slight veil of sheer indulgence. It is a scent that is close to you and becomes one with your chemistry. Despite its soft veil of scent, it is a scent that is long lasting and will be with you for hours. This is the perfect perfume for the warm summer months; yet still the perfect scent all year round! It will be available during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Event but quantities are limited, so don’t wait!

Donna Karan 'Cashmere Mist' Body Misting Spray

Being a long time lover of Cashmere Mist eau de parfum, I was thrilled to have something in mist form. It gets very hot here during the summer months and this is going to be the perfect treat for the summer heat. It’s a delicately perfumed mist and can be sprayed all over body before dressing, then layer with the parfum for longer lasting and more intense scenting. For me it will be just the right touch for summer, chill it and spritz it on just before heading out for the day. What a cooling treat! It still has the same warm undertones of sandalwood, amber and musk with a bit of vanilla as well so we’ll still be getting the same Cashmere Mist we all love. It comes in a 4.5oz mist for $45.

Currently only available overseas, in Europe and Asia particularly, I am completely enchanted by Donna Karan’s new fragrance. Not only for its enticingly clean scent but for what it stands for. The scent features Vanilla from Uganda, of which part of the proceeds will benefit the women of Uganda to combat poverty and education; and the packaging from inside out are completely sustainable. The whole thing can be recycled after we’ve enjoyed its deliciousness. This is the first perfume in the DKNY family to address the issue of environmental and global issues, so hopefully its success will lead to others.

Dewdrop petal, lotus and Bulgarian rose are the first touch; blending into heart notes of exotic blossoms; finishing off with an intoxicating blend of white amber, sandalwood and vanilla. It’s a mix between a clean scent and a gourmand. Its first impression is not one of a scent named “Pure” as it has more intensity, but it dries down to a creamy, fluid softness. Its global launch began in February 2010, with an anticipated U.S launch around July 2010, but if you must try it sooner; it is currently available on some perfume sites such as become.com and valentineperume.com. Some sites are already sold out so if you want to try this before it hits the U.S market try the sites I listed, they are still available.
