Paul and Joe Beauty Habit Haul

I couldn’t help but take advantage of the promotion Beauty Habit was having, so I decided to get a few items from Paul and Joe. Since their fall collection has just launched I wanted to grab up what I could; the collection is so darn cute I couldn’t resist!

I got the lipstick in Clair de Lune, with its cute cat shaped bullet, however I’m not sure I can use it and ruin the design. So I bought two, one to use and one to keep! Silliness, I know. But I love its nude shade that enhances my lip color to that “my lips but better” shade. Not to mention how creamy it is, yet wears tremendously well for a lip stick so creamy. Also included in my haul was the newly redone Lip Gloss G in 02, which is a nude with a slight shimmer and is perfect alone or over any lipstick for a bit of depth; the polish in 03 Lampshade which is a slightly shimmery light peachy-pink shade that is perfect for work or play; and lastly my favorite brush, the retractable powder/blush brush. This is perfect for carrying in my purse; I don’t know what I’d do without it.

Paul and Joe is very hard to get your hands on, and if you want to see it in person you have to go to NYC and visit Bergdorf Goodman, or if you are in California you can stop by Beauty Habit. Needless to say these high end brands rarely have any kind of discount, so when a site like Beautyhabit.com has one, jump on it and take advantage of the savings. Overall, having purchased my items sight unseen, I love every item.

Beyonce Heat Ultimate Elixir

Singer Beyoncé Knowles addes to the success of her debut fragrance and will launch Heat Ultimate Elixir. The new fragrance will be launched with a limited-edition bottle in September 2010. Its name, Heat Ultimate Elixir by Beyoncé is a parfum concentration in a 1.7 fl. Oz and will offer a more intense and sensual version of the original Heat. Heat Ultimate Elixir was will capture warmth and sensualness, with notes of Red Vanilla Orchid, Neroli, Blush Peach, Crème de Musk, Cedarwood, Amber and Vanilla Tonka Bean. It opens with a sparkling fruitiness, but ends with a softness and sophistication making it a multi-dimensional perfume. As of yet, I have no pricing information for the release but I will update as soon as I get it!

Chanel Hydramax + Active Lip Care

 

Prior to this Chanel had a lip balm that was in a tube like their lipsticks. Not many knew of it, and for reason. It really was less than impressive. And for Chanel this was a rarity! However, with the release of new skin care Chanel has added the Hydramax +Active collection which contains a new lip balm.

Since Hydramax is all about adding moisture, the Hydramax + Active Lip Crème is pure moisture for your lips. It comes in a jar much like the other skin care items, so it falls in esthetically with the elegance of the Chanel skin care collection. But it’s what’s inside that’s most impressive. The lip cream is super hydrating and immediately melts into a butter like texture. It absorbs instantly giving dry, dehydrated lips a big drink of water, instantly relieving lips of flaking and dryness. It has a nice slip and only the slightest bit of shine; wear it alone or under lipstick for a moisturizing base.

With a price tag of $45, this can certainly be classified as a luxury item. But since very little is needed, I’m sure this will last quite some time. I’ve had mine for months and barely making a dent. I’m just afraid that if you try it, you will become addicted!
