Depotting any shadow, blush or powder perfectly!

Many of you are like me, you have too many shadow, blushes, powderst etc. Having hundreds of compacts to open just to find what you are looking for can be frustrating. If you travel which I do often, this can become an issue! What do you take, what will you need. Well, you want it all! MAC sells refills for their items, and I love them for that! But not all brands do. So after reading post after post of ways to depot cosmetics, I did it my way. And it's worked perfectly for just about every brand. You will see that for this, I used a Laura Mercier Illuminating Quad. It is very simple, risk free and most of all safe, not only for you but for your beloved items! You need two items, well three with the item you will be depotting, Candle/cup warmer and a pair of tweezers! If you follow these directions, you will have a perfectly depotted item ready to be housed in your favorite pallette. Just a heads up, Trish Mcevoys planner pages are great and work for just about everything!
  • Plug in your warmer and allow to heat up for a few minutes
  • Place your item or items on the warmer, this will soften the glue that holds the pans in
  • After 3-4 minutes use your tweezers to pick up the corner of the metal pan to see if the glue has softened. If it doesn't easily lift up, give it a few more minutes
  • Once the glue has softened, lift out the pan and place in your new pallette

That's it! And you have a perfectly depotted item. A good thing about this method is that it doesn't damage the compact, so if you save it, you can put your item back in it later! So no poking holes in compacts, using hot pins or pokers! And no damaged product! The heat on these warmers doesn't get hot enough to alter or damage your item. So go give it a try and let me know what you think!
